Florida Hospital Apopka:
Site is just one mile from the new Florida Hospital Apopka. After 40 years in downtown Apopka, Florida Hospital is planning to move to a new location with a bigger campus and new services that will replace the smaller, 40-year-old building. Scheduled for completion in 2017, the seven-story medical complex will include 120 private rooms, additional surgical services and a women's center. Its location - at the convergence of State Roads 429, 414, and 451 - will spark more development south of US 441.

Apopka City Center Mixed-Use Project:
Site is 2.4 miles from the proposed $100 million first phase of the Apopka City Center mixed-use project at US 441 and State Road 436. Plans include creating a walkable town center-like complex with 207,317 square feet of shops, restaurants, office/medical office and entertainment facilities, plus a 150-room hotel, 143,500 square feet of multifamily and senior living space, and, potentially, a 300-space parking structure. Starbucks and First Watch are among the possible tenants for the retail portion of the project, as reported by Orlando Business Journal. 
Along with that, the city would handle the development of a boardwalk with a pond and park elements, plans showed.

Site is on Marden Road, which connects to Ocoee Apopka Road, an arterial road in the area that runs from South Apopka to the Disney World area.

Major thoroughfares that are near the subject site include FL-429, FL-414, US 441, and State Road 436.
