At the heart of Artwalk Center is 4 Elton Street, originally constructed in 1911 as a purpose-built printing plant. Designed to support heavy presses, the building features extra-thick concrete floors, soaring ceiling heights, exposed brick walls, and substantial timber columns. A sloped, indoor truck ramp was incorporated to allow delivery vehicles to back directly into the building, enabling year-round loading and unloading. These industrial details remain visible today, lending the space its distinctive character more than a century later.
