Completed in 1924, the former Federal Reserve Bank Building, designed by George W. Kelham sits in the heart of the San Francisco Financial District. The building’s classical Beaux-Arts colonnades combined with the second story’s 1920s Moderne style highlight the architectural duality of this historic landmark. From 1926 to 1983, the building served as a major branch of the U.S. Federal Reserve Bank. In 1983, the Federal Reserve relocated, and the space sold to private investors.
