Additionally, the 1,540-square-foot pilot plant includes a separate 490-square-foot support equipment room and centralized utilities such as clean steam from a 9.5 HP low NOx Parker steam boiler, compressed dry air via an Atlas Copco ZT 22VSD compressor, and chilled water from an Advantage MGD-7.5A chiller. The facility also incorporates an Evoqua water softener and RO system with a 480-gallon storage tank and distribution skid, meeting stringent effluent performance requirements.
Supporting infrastructure includes floor sinks connected to a Washtec pump lift station and pH adjustment system, separate exhaust for future biosafety cabinets, stainless exhaust venting for fermenters, and overhead electrical circuits for CIP cart use. Additional features include a 240-square-foot glass washroom with a Beta Star sterilizer, a 430-square-foot engineering room, and a 360-square-foot test kitchen with commercial-grade appliances, including a Southbend range and convection oven, refrigeration units, and stainless worktables. The space also offers a 1,200-square-foot break area, 4,400 square feet of open office space, multiple conference rooms, huddle rooms, a mother’s room, and a 500-square-foot shipping and receiving area with a roll-up door. Security and technology provisions include an IT room with AV racks, a Brivo card reader access system, and future-ready infrastructure for an exterior roll-up door and patio.
