WINK TO OPEN ON BLEECKER

Friday, July 20, 2012 - The up-and-coming women’s apparel and home furnishings store WiNK will open a fifth Manhattan location at 305 Bleecker St., between Seventh Ave. South and Grove St. The 6,250 square foot location will have 1,750 square feet on the ground that will include a glass enclosed café and juice bar as well as a brow bar – no kidding—while the 1,500 square foot second, third and roof floors will host a new Bleecker St. Art Club concept for home furnishings and fine art. There is also a basement. Founded by Steve Werther, who previously created and sold Portico, WiNK is also located 129 Prince St. which is where investigators dug up the basement while seeking Etan Patz’s remains. “We are seeing Bleecker St. evolve very quickly towards Seventh Ave. South,” said their broker Joshua Straus of RKF who added that asking rents on the block range from $300 to $700 a foot. “There is a premium for very small space but rents have gone through the roof.” Scheduled to open in the spring of 2013, the Bleecker St. store will be WiNK’s first location to integrate the sale of apparel and accessories, with home furnishings, art and coffee. Strauss and RKF’s Zach Beloff repped WiNK, while RKF colleagues Beth Rosen, Tess Jacoby and analyst Robert Goldman represented the Lloyd Goldman ownership. Strauss is also now assisting Alan Grossman on marketing a retail space of about 20,00 square feet at 583 Broadway. “There is not that much available and it’s all flagships,” Strauss said.
