Amid columns of startling European war news, the Everett Daily Herald published August 23, 1941, announced a modern new apartment and business complex ideally located in the heart of downtown everett. The developers were brothers Robert and Lester Pringle, owners of Pringle Radio at 2516 Colby. The proposed building contained 25 two and three room apartment. Features to be offered included plaster walls, hardwood floors and oil fired central water heat. Four individual commercial spaces were planned along Colby on the ground floor, while the 25th Street Apartment entrance featured a small garden. Everett High Alumni recall the Campus Shop, a hangout for several generations, which is now QualStar Credit union. The fourth floor, with it's penthouse units including skylights, jetted tubs and great views, was seamlessly added to the building some time later.
