The company was incorporated in 2002 to bring to market a product that is a corporate-class anti-spam system that was developed by its founders in 1995. The product is based on a technology taught in college-level computer science classes for more than 40 years, and has been the basis for network firewall design for just as long: allow any communication to be received from a known source, question any communication for an unknown source. In essence, the product monitors all of a company' s incoming and outgoing email, and automatically builds a whitelist of known entities (Senders) that the company communicates with all mail from these good Senders is accepted without question as not spam. Conversely, the email received from an unknown source is held in the system' s private (individual' s) Quarantine (accessible from Windows, Mac, Unix, and portable devices/web-phones), and a single Welcome Notice is sent to the unknown Sender with a simple opt-in to click, demonstrating they are not an automated (spammer) system and therefore releasing their mail and adding them to the whitelist (if you chose to enable this feature).
