Cityfeet Resources
|
-
Be present
at all
times
during
the
moves.
Movers
often
have
questions
that
only
you
can
answer.
-
Make
sure
you're
there
so no
time
is wasted
and
nothing
is left
to chance.
- Carefully
read
and
fill
out
the
Bill
Of Laden,
this
being
the
legal
agreement
between
you
and
your
moving
company.
-
Do a
final
check
of your
home
to make
sure
nothing
was
left
behind.
-
Supply
contact
information
(cell
phone
usually
works
best)
to the
movers
in case
any
complications
arise.
- Make
sure
the
movers
have
your
new
address
/ directions
to get
there.
-
Provide
water
and
restroom
facilities
for
your
movers
- this
is just
common
courtesy.
-
Separate
anything
that
the
movers
will
not
be taking
(perhaps
an outfit,
portable
music
device,
etc).
This
way
there
is
no confusion
as to
whether
it should
be taken
with
everything
else.
-
Anything
of exceptional
value,
monetary
or personal
(jewelry,
photos,
etc)
should
be taken
separately
with
you,
or mailed
to your
new
home
using
a service
that
provides
tracking
capabilities
(FedEx,
UPS).
-
Give
at least
a day
or two
between
when
you're
planning
the
move
and
when
the
new
tenants
will
be moving
into
your
existing
home.
Complications
can
arise,
so this
will
help
give
you
a cushion
in case
things
have
to be
pushed
back.
-
Get
a full
night's
rest
prior
to the
move.
You'll
need
your
energy
for
this
process.
-
Have
the
dedicated
funds
for
the
move
set
aside:
in cash,
certified
check,
or money
order.
This
is something
that
needs
to be
prepared
before
the
moving
process
begins.
If using
a credit
card,
make
the
necessary
arrangements
with
your
movers
so that
there's
no chance
of a
problem
come
moving
day.
-
As your
items
are
being
delivered
/ unpacked,
check
for
any
possible
damages
- and
if found
make
a note
to point
them
out
to your
movers
after
the
delivery
is complete.
-
Be present
during
this
entire
process: packing,
loading,
and
unloading.
