  • Make sure that you have adequately prepared for all aspects of the conference/meeting well ahead of time. A little preparation goes a long way!
  • Review the technical and physical specs of your conference room well ahead of time, and again once you have arrived on the day of the meeting. It is important to know where all outlets and sockets are located in relation to the table(s) in the room. Doing a little advanced scouting could save an embarrassing moment from occurring once the conference has begun.
  • You have reserved a beautiful conference center and mapped out every inch of the room…but no one shows up! Make sure that you provide detailed directions and instructions for all participants so that they can attend your carefully prepared meeting.
  • Don't just select a catering option "for 100" blindly and assume that you have ordered enough food. Portion sizes can be misleading, so if at all possible ask for more information about catering services and what you will be receiving. There is nothing worse than a meeting full of hungry people!
  • Ask for feedback once the meeting/conference is completed. This will let you know what went well and what didn't and will help you to plan a more productive meeting in the future!
  • Once you find a venue that you are satisfied with, it pays (literally) to keep using their services. Most venues offer discounts and other incentives to frequent clients!
